Mouth ulcers

The other day I was at the clinic and saw this ad there...
If you have any trouble with ulcers in the mouth, then take a fresh cut onion piece and place it on the ulcer for sometime. The ulcer will vanish. Looks like something I should try next time I get an ulcer.

Garlic!!A 1:many problem prevention!!

Recently mom was telling me that she watched a clip on TV. It was about how Garlic can be used to prevent many problems.
Method is very simple....
use about 2 to4 garlics with 1 glass of milk.
peel off the outer scales of the garlic. boil it along with a glass of milk till the milk becomes thick (you can keep it on low flame so that the milk does not overflow from the vessel).
Then drink the milk along with the garlic.

the best part in this is that the garlic does not have the typical smell and taste ( many of them have a problem with it). Once it is boiled in milk...the smell goes away.
This must be taken every night before going to bed.

It helps in the following:
1. gastric problems
2. acidity
3. indigestion
4. weight reduction
5. Keeps you young and glowing
and many more...i forgot the full list..

I am yet to try it. Will buy garlic on the way back home today.

GM diet works!! I tried it...

I really dint believe it...it works...but of course i dint follow the full course...
I knew that it is going to be very diffciult for me to do the diet as I always have some function to attend...and I hav to eat there....so I came out with a new plan...half GM diet...
What I did was, followed the 7 day rotuine for 3.5 days. Eg: if it is fruits the first day, then I ate fruits for the first half of the day(morning to afternoon). second half of the day (afternoon to night) was what should be eaten for the second day.
Why I loved the diet :
1. The fruit eating was amazing. I loved it as I love fruits. Of course I had a lot of fruits as I am not of that kind who can survive with just one bowl of fruits for a long time.
2. It did not make me feel tired.
3. I could eat whenever I was hungry
4. IT ACTUALLY GOT ME 1.5 Kgs DOWN IN 3.5 DAYS
5. For the first time in my life, I lost weight on my hips rather than my cheeks. It was the first time that I lost weight and no one asked me what happened to my health, why my eyes have gone in....in fact...people could see the difference but still felt I looked the same health wise.

I am aware that this diet is scientofically designed for 7 days. I have no authentic document to say that it is ok to follow it for 3.5 days. But I felt, it is better to eat fruits and vegetables and rst of the things mentioned in the diet instead of eating junk food. it would not do any harm to the body.
I loved it. 3.5 days is a smaller time and easier to stick to the regime.
It did yeild results.

I am going to try this twice every month so that I can slowly but healthily reduce my weight.

Detecting heart attack

People should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting.
Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line.
You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack.
Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms.
60% of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up.
Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep.
Let's be careful and be aware.

DRINK WATER ON EMPTY STOMACH

I don't know how much this works...i have not seriously tried it...but if it helps anyone..then I am happy...sometimes we also hear that drinking too much water puts starin on the kidneys...so its upto the readr's discretion to decide:)

It is popular in Japan today to drink water immediately after waking up every morning. Furthermore, scientific tests have proven a its value. We publish below a description of use of water for our readers.
For old and serious diseases as well as modern illnesses the water treatment had been found successful by a Japanese medical society as a 100% cure for the following diseases:

The GM diet

This is a perticular kind of diet that many people in office are now following. They all seem to be having great results. anyone who is interested can check this out..
Also, below is the complete vegetarian version of it...the original version talks about beef etc..


The following diet and health program was apparently developed for the employees and the dependants of General Motors Inc.
The program was developed in conjunction with the grant from the US Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. It was first tried at the Johns Hopkins Research Centre and was approved for distribution by the Board of Directors of General Motors Corporation at a general meeting on August 15, 1995.
General Motors Corporation wholly endorsed this program and is making it available to all employees and families. This program will be available at all General Motors Food service facilities.
It is the management’s intention to facilitate a welfare and fitness program for everyone.
This program is designed for a target weight loss of 5-6 Kgs. per week. It will also improve your attitude and emotions because of its systematic cleansing effects. The effectiveness of this seven day plan is that the foods eaten burn more calories than they give to the body in caloric value. This plan can be used as often as you like to without any fear of complications. It is designed to flush your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being. After seven days you will begin to feel lighter by atleast 10 pounds. You will have an abundance of energy and an improved disposition.
During the first seven days you must drink 10 glasses of water each day.

DAY ONE
All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consists of all fruits you want. It is suggested you consume lots of watermelon and cantaloupe.
DAY TWO
All vegetables. You are encouraged to eat until you are stuffed with all the new and cooked vegetables of your choice. There is no limit on the account or type. Avoid oil and coconut while cooking vegetables. Have large boiled potato for breakfast.

Today is a feast day. You will eat 1 (one) cup of rice. You also have to eat 6 (six) whole tomatoes and drink 12 (twelve) glasses of water today to cleanse your system of the excess uric acid you will be producing.
DAY SIX
Today is another all vegetables day. You must eat 1 cup of rice today and eat all the vegetables you want cooked and uncooked to your heart's content.
DAY SEVEN
Today your food intake will consist of 1 cup rice, fruit juice and all the vegetables you care to consume. Tomorrow morning you will be five to eight kilograms lighter than 1 week ago. If you desire further weight loss, repeat the program again.

Repeat the program as often as you like, however, it is suggested that you rest for three days before every repetition.

You have your system under control now and it will thank you for all the purging and cleansing you just gave it. Even more than a diet program it is good to follow this diet once in a while to clean your digestive system and remove toxic substances that have a accumulated in the system.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
The most important element of the program is the 10 (ten) tall glasses of water a day. You can also flavour the water will some lemon to make the drink easier. While on the program, take only black coffee and never more than one teaspoon of oil. Preferably do not use oil because the high calorific content. No fruit juices before day seven.

Here is what happens to you body while you are on this program and how and why it works.

Day 1: You are preparing your system for the upcoming program. Your only source of nutrition is fresh fruits. Fruits are nature's perfect food. They provide everything you can possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety.
Day 2: Starts with a fix complex carbohydrates in the form of a boiled potato. This is taken in the form of a boiled potato and taken in the morning to provide energy and balance. The rest of the day too consists of vegetables which are virtually calories free and provide essential nutrients and fibre.
Day 3: Eliminates the potato because you get your carbohydrates from fruits. Your system is now prepared to start burning excess pounds. You will have cravings, which should start to diminish by day four.
Day 4: Bananas and milk. You are in for a surprise. You probably will not be able to eat all the bananas allowed. But they are there for the potassium you have lost and the sodium you may have missed during the last three days. You will notice a definite loss of desire for sweets and you will be surprised at how easy this day will go.
Day 5: Rice and tomatoes. The rice is for the carbohydrates and the tomatoes are for the digestion and the fibre. Drinking a lot of water purifies your system. You should notice colourless urine today. If you do not feel like having one cup rice, you may eat less. But you may eat six tomatoes.
Day 6: It is similar to day five. Vitamins and fibre from the vegetables and carbohydrates from the rice. By now your system is in a total weight loss inclination. There should be a noticeable difference in the way you look today compared to day one.
Day 7: You may celebrate with champagne. You may also have white wine instead of champagne, but in all practical programs, and in all surveys done to measure the success of the program, General Motors employees have always preferred champagne to white wine.

More than one cup of coffee with milk is especially forbidden. Milk and oil add empty calories to your diet.
Coffee lovers can console themselves with black coffee.
However, after the first week, it will help your digestion and set your stomach. The key thing to remember is that if you are hungry at any time, then you are not following the diet correctly.

Almost all people give up the diet when they are hungry because of dieting. The secret of this program is that you should never hungry. If it is a vegetable day, eat so much vegetables that you are never hungry. If it is a fruits day, eat so much fruits that you are never hungry. You may be bored of eating vegetables all day, but you should not be hungry. You can take any amount of General Motors wonder soup on any day.

The following soup is intended as a supplement to your diet. It can be eaten any time of the day in virtually unlimited quantities. You are encouraged to drink large quantities of this soup.
23 oz water
06 large onions
02 green peppers
03 whole tomatoes
1 cabbage
1 bunch celery - add herbs and seasoning as desired.

Easy way to burn fat!!

One of the thousand ways to deal better with fat is to drink warm water aftr a meal. The fat is found to break down easily when warm water goes in. In fact colde water actually hardens the fat.
Hence after every meal...try to drink warm water.
I have started drinking warm water always....who knows...there might be fat always in the stomach :)...I am determined to get rid of it:)

Easy walking to reduce weight!

This is something that i have been doing from a very long time now. So thought i'll put it down here.

Amma had read aboutt his in some book. It is about walking. So many of us dont find the time to go walking. We have bad roads filled with slush and so cannot go. Some of us are nto allowed to go alone. so many reasons. So how would it be if we could walk at home???!!!

Surprising? yes we can . I used to do it alomost everyday.

ok..this is how it is done. get some space...lets say the terrace, or lawn or a room without furniture at home or an empty site in front of ur house or ur car parking space or garage....
start walking. but dont walk round and round the room. u will get giddy...
u r supposed to walk in the form of an eight....yes, the number 8.

u don have to draw and 8 and walk on it. just an imaginary one. u dont have to be perfect also. the idea is that, when u walk as an 8...you don go in the same direction....(i dont know how to explain it better)...hence u wont feel giddy altho u r walking in a small area.

and when u try to walk as the curved top and bottom area....u put pressure on ur sides...hips...this will help reducing these portions of the body.

I used to do it everyday. It was very refreshing and nice.

you can do it any time of the day, you dont have to go outside home,you dont need company, you can have some activity on the kitchen stove or on the computer and can simulataneoulsy do this when something is getting cooked or processed...

And let me tell this...it is very tiring..I sweat a lot when I do this...
you can walk slowly or even fast. I walk quite fast...

Increase iron in blood

This was the third time. But this time it was better.
I have been to the blood donation camp 3 times now. Not once have I donated blood. First time I went, they said I had less hemoglobin and so I should not donate. The second time I was on medication so they dint even see if I had any hemoglobin. This time it was a little better. They said, “you hemoglobin count is on the border level. We would not advice donation”.
They gave me a chart of how to improve my hemoglobin content. I thought I’ll put it down on my blog so that I can refer to it when I feel like.
Note: My doctor had found that I get serious stomach pains only due to less hemoglobin. So I am already on iron tablets. But what I realized was that, not only the intake of iron has to be improved, but also the absorbing of the hemoglobin should be good. To improve that also the chart below would help.
The increase in iron and lots of prayers from my mom really helped improve my stomach pains. I am not having it lately. So anyone interested can try it.

Iron rich food:
Cereals: Bajra, Jowar, Ragi, Rice flakes, Puffed rice, whole wheat flour, Lentil (Masoor),
Pulses: Bengal gram (whole), Roated Bengal gram, cow peas, channa, horse gram, black gram dhal, peas
Vegetables: All green leafy vegetables, palak, fenugreek, amaranth, curry leaves, coriander leaves, onion stalks, drum stick, drum stick leaves, broad beans, bitter guard, sundekai, capsicum
Oil seeds: Gingelly seeds, watermelon seeds, dates (small quantity), raisins, almond(limited)
Non veg: chicken, fish, liver, egg yolk.

Lemon juice, fruits like orange, sweet lime, pineapple and guava, if taken along with the iron rich foods, helps in better absorption of iron.

Reduce fat everyday

A simple way of reducing fat content in your body is by eating horse gram.
1. Cook the horse gram like dal. Drink the excess water. If you like, you can use the cooked horse gram in curry, sambhar etc.
OR
2. heat the horse gram in a microwave or just on the gas stove for sometime and then make a fine powder of it and store. use one table spoon of the powder in any cooking that you do like curry, sambhar etc etc. it does not add any taste. but is a very good fat reducer.
OR
3. Just heat the horse gram and eat it as a snack.
